BLACKBERRY JAM CAKE
 
Ingredients
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. sour milk
  • 1 c. cooked apples
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 2 c. chopped dates
  • 1 pt. blackberry jam
  • 3½ c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 pt. peach preserves
  • 1 pt. chopped pecans
Instructions
  1. Make the batter; add the preserves and jam. Add pecans and dates last. Bake in a greased angel food pan. Line bottom with waxed paper. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Bake 3 hours. Cool a few minutes and turn out to finish cooling. Will keep for weeks in foil or Saran.
