CUSTARD PIE

Ingredients
  • 4 eggs
  • ⅔ c. sugar
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. nutmeg
  • 2-2/3 c. scalding hot milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
Instructions
  1. Beat lightly 4 eggs. Beat the remaining ingredients into the eggs. Pour into 9 inch pastry-lined pie pan. Bake until a silver knife inserted into the side of filling comes out clean. The center may still look a bit soft but will set later.
  2. Caution: Too long baking will make custard watery. Bake in 450 degree oven for 15 minutes, then 350 degree oven to finish. Time: 25-30 minutes in all.
