DEDICATION
This book is dedicated to Mom and Dad, Rev. Leonard John Larson (1894-1973) and Alice Natalie Bloomgren Larson (1893-1979). As children of Swedish Immigrants, they grew up in the Worthington, Minnesota area and were married in 1920. They then sailed for China where they were missionaries for the Mission Covenant Church for seven years. Dad then pastored churches in Oakland, Nebraska, Kansas City, Missouri, and Wichita, Kansas before his retirement in 1966. The three girls and four boys born to Mom and Dad now have grandchildren of their own and the total number of descendants is over 150 and growing!
As we have grown older ourselves and realize the many responsibilities of raising and educating our own families, we marvel at the monumental task Mom and Dad had in their raising seven children on a preacher’s very small salary during the depression and World War II. Although the folks have now passed away, their memory is with us, and we pray that we will pass on to our children and grandchildren the love and training that we received from Mom and Dad Larson.
