DAD'S K.C. PORCUPINE BALLS

Ingredients
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • ⅓ c. dry rice
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ⅛ tsp. pepper
  • 1 chicken bouillon cube
  • ½ tsp. chili powder
  • 1 egg
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • ¼ c. minced onion
  • ¼ c. minced celery
  • 1-1/2 c. water
Instructions
  1. Melt the bouillon cube in 2 tablespoons of hot water. Mix all the dry ingredients together and sprinkle over the meat as you work it into the meat. Add all the other ingredients except the soup and water and work until well mixed. Form small egg sized balls and brown in frying pan. Pour balls and grease into saucepan. Add the tomato soup and water. Keep covered tightly while simmering about 30 minutes. Add water as it is needed for the gravy.
