Ingredients
  • ¼ lb. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. finely chopped dates
  • ½ c. finely chopped pecans
  • 1 beaten egg
  • ¾ c. chopped coconut
  • 2-1/2 c. Rice Krispies
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
Instructions
  1. Mix together butter, sugar, dates and eggs. Cook 10 minutes over low heat, stirring so that mixture does not scorch. Remove from the heat and add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Pour the syrup over 2½ cups Rice Krispies; mix well. Shape into fingers and roll in ¾ cup coconut and ½ cup chopped nuts. Place on sheet of waxed paper, refrigerate at least an hour. Store in sealed tin.
