POPCORN BALLS

POPCORN BALLS
 
Ingredients
  • 1 c. sugar
  • ⅓ c. white syrup
  • ⅓ c. water
  • ¼ c. butter
  • ¾ tsp. salt
  • ¾ tsp. vanilla
  • 3 qts. popped corn
Instructions
  1. Put sugar, corn syrup, water, butter and salt in a saucepan and cook, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Continue cooking without stirring to brittle ball stage in cold water. Add vanilla. Stir and pour over the popped corn in a large bowl or pan. Mix it well. Wet hands and shape into balls. Use only enough pressure to make balls stick together. makes 12 balls. Nuts, peanuts or candied cherries cut up may be added before combining with syrup, if desired.
